Hypospadias

Hypospadias is a congenital abnormality in which the opening of the urethra is located on the underside of the penis or scrotum instead of at the tip. This can result in difficulty with urination and can affect the appearance and function of the penis. Hypospadias can range from a mild form, in which the opening is only slightly below the tip of the penis, to a more severe form, in which the opening is located near the scrotum. Treatment typically involves surgery to correct the anatomy of the penis and to reposition the urethral opening to a more normal location. In some cases, multiple surgeries may be necessary.
